About Us
Our 16-placed, focused provision unit has two classrooms, a sensory room, a calm room, accessible toilets, a kitchen area with cooking facilities, a playground and play equipment.
Applegate Class is our Key Stage 1 classroom and Wiltshire Class is our Key Stage 2 classroom.
Our Aims
To offer an aspirational educational program that prepares learners for key transitions and adulthood.
To create a safe and purposeful learning environment where pupils can build secure and trusting relationships.
To provide pupils with opportunities to understand the world around them and experience a rich curriculum focused on experiential learning and cultural capital.
To promote independence by teaching essential skills in social communication, emotional regulation, social interaction, self-care, and autonomy.
To equip pupils with the skills needed for a happy and independent life, balancing personal development and academic achievement.
To encourage positive behaviour and celebrate achievements, recognizing all the small steps our pupils take.
To work in partnership and promote shared responsibility among specialists, staff, parents, and carers.
Our Curriculum
Applegate Class follow the Equal's informal curriculum; this is made up of the five basic principles: communication, play, independence, physical wellbeing, and outdoor education.
Wiltshire Class follow the Equal's semi-formal curriculum; this consists of the five basic principles plus additional schemes of work such as music, art, drama, dance, and RSE.
