Base 10 is a resource (in maths we call resources manipulatives) that help us to understand Place Value. Each object represents a different value: Thousands, Hundreds, Tens and Ones (Th, H, T, O).

They can be used to help children understand the place value of digits in a number.

Each Year group will work up to a different number:

EYFS- 10

KS1-100

Year 3- 1,000

Year 4- 10,000

Year 5- 1,000,000

Year 6- 10,000,000
