Year 1/2
Welcome to Year 1/2
We are Whitehead, Anderson and Crampton Class.
Do you know who we are named after?
Richard Whitehead is a Paralympian Runner who lives in Loudham, Nottingham.
Viv Anderson is a famous footballer who played for Nottingham Forest and was the first black player to gain an England Cap.
Phil Crampton is a mountaineer who has journeyed across the world and seeks ways to ensure others are treated fairly.
In spring we are learning about...
- Our Town and where Nottingham fits in our country. We are also finding out about our world including the hottest and coldest places.
- Animals including humans, in Science. We are looking at life cycles, habitats and what animals need in order to survive.
- Moving story boards in DT. We are using sliders and levers to tell the story of The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch.
- The artist Henri Edmund-Cross and his work on pointillism.
- Algorithms and coding using Purple Mash during computing.
- Sound patterns through Fairytales in music.
