Numicon is a hands-on maths resource that uses colourful shapes to help children understand numbers in a practical, visual way.

Each number has its own coloured shape with holes in it:

• 1 = small piece with 1 hole
• 2 = piece with 2 holes
• 3 = piece with 3 holes
• and so on…

The shapes grow in size, so children can see how numbers get bigger.

• physically join shapes to make a bigger number
• easily see which number is bigger or smaller
